Das Original

Kommodore Rolin...: As visible the coloring of the hull of my model divers from that of the real ship. In the describtion which was added to the drawings one can read that the real ship was colored white too during its first years. Unfortunally german ships often appear with black hulls, but I prefer other colors that is why I decided to paint the body of the ship white.

The Successor

The pilot boats have been replaced by so called  SWATH-Boates (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) . The following picture displays a ship of this type in the habour of the North Sea island Borkum in 2013.
