Ih the first step the shape of the footprint of the deckhouses were copied from the drawing and with the help of these drawings frames were manufactured of beech ply wood.

Seitenteile  The decks and the single parts like side walls and decks were created in the same way.
State 10/08/2013: The pictures beside show some copies of side walls of the deckhouse located at the B-Deck. Since the starboard and the port side of the superstructure are not designed symmetrically it is important to study the drawings and all available fotos of the real ship really carefully.

Deckshaus 1 Deckshaus2  For example the location and the count of windows differ further the section for the crane at the starboard side appears completely different from the shape on the port side where the FRC is placed. The DANZAS container at the working deck contains smaller fittings delivered from Geramny :) ...

State 10/09/2013:
Bugstrahlruder 1 Bugstrahlruder 2 The vessel is equipped with three thrusters in total wereas two are locate in the bow section and the third one can be found in the stern of the hull. The two bow thrusters are needed in order to compensate the impact of wind due to the bigger area exposed to the wind and of course to improve manoeuvarbility while sailing backward.

Abgasauslässe The picture beside displays the exhaust that are placed on top of the bridge.
After this step I started manufacturing the bridge what appeared quite difficult due to the fact that nearly all walls have an angle different from vertical.


Brücke 1 Brücke 2 Once the task is started and applying some ordinary and extraordinary tools the bridge is growing step by step. I started with the back boards since these are the only ones that stand vertically on the bottom. Afterwards it was possibile to adjust the other panels onto these two walls.

Since it appeared to be much more difficult to find the correct position for the anchours after the hull is completely planked I did this work during planking the bow as can be seen in the below depicted fotos.

Brücke 1 Anker 1 Anker 2 For all my earlier models I bought anchours since I could not imagine that I'm able to manufacture such filigree parts. Due to a lack of anchours that resemble the original ones I was forced to try building them myself.
Well, to my point of view the results are not too bad...

Ankertaschen 2 Before I proceded with the planking works the housings for the anchours were installed but still not finally fixed since the inside of the hull shall be reinforced with glas fiber later.
The hawse pipes are made from a hose since it appears easier to conect them later to the inlets in the bottom of the B-Deck.

Brücke 10 Yeah! Finally the raw structure of the bridge has been completed. If I count the hours it took me to build this section it would have been more reasonable to buy this part of the superstructure. On the other hand it allways makes a good feeling if one succeeds in difficult defiances :).
